Melbourne based independent agency, Communicado, has strengthened its creative offering with the appointment of Annie Price as creative director and Eliza Albie as senior art director, joining a rapidly expanding team.

Says Kerrie Ryan, Communicado managing director, “I’ve known Annie for 28 years and after several stints working together, we always stayed in touch. I knew we’d be working together again in the future. I’ve seen first hand how Annie’s creative ideas cut through and make an impact.

“Appointing Annie and Eliza bolsters our integrated offering across creative, shopper, digital and PR where our team has grown from 25 to 32 in the past six months alone due to new client wins and existing growth,” says Ryan.

Says Lucy Houldsworth, communicado director, “Annie and Eliza are brilliant people and talented creatives. We are lucky to have their creativity and expertise, especially in the retail and shopper space, which is a rare find.”

With more than 30 years’ experience across brand, retail and shopper, Annie Price joins Communicado following seven years as creative director at Wunderman Thompson working on the Coles Liquor Group, Harris Scarfe, Treasury Wine Estates and Simplot.

Previously, Price worked on Australia’s most trusted retail brand, Bunnings, at the Brand Agency as well as several years at McCann Melbourne with award-winning work for VLine. With a passion for nurturing new creative talent, Price was also on the MADC committee and co-ran the ‘Wunderkinds’ Mentor Program plus tutored at Award School.

Eliza Albie brings to Communicado more than 15 years’ experience having worked as the lead activation designer at Clemenger BBDO and then Wunderman Thompson creating award-winning integrated shopper and experiential campaigns for clients such as Mars Chocolate, Mars Petcare, Mattel, CUB, Treasury Wine Estates, Fonterra and Simplot.

Says Annie Price: “I’ve worked in agencies big and small, multi-nationals and independents. Joining Communicado, and working with Kez, Lucy and their talented team, I honestly feel like I’m home. I love that they put people first.”

“I was lucky enough to hire (and work alongside) Eliza at Wunderman Thompson. She is an absolute gun and I learnt so much from her in the shopper space. When she left to join Communicado, I felt like my right arm had been chopped off. So, the only course of action was to follow her!” says Price.

Says Eliza Albie: “Annie and I had a total of three days in person at Wunderman, before a swift lockdown had us working remotely for close to two years. But our silver lining was that it allowed us to really hone our collaboration skills, and create some wonderful work together.”

“The essence of any agency is hard to bottle, but there’s nothing quite like Communicado. Full of doers, makers and creators working side-by-side,” says Albie.

Wholly independent for more than 30 years, Communicado has been delivering integrated communications solutions for some of Australia’s most loved brands including Dulux Australia, Asahi Premium Beverages, Carlton & United Breweries, Asahi Lifestyle Beverages, Carpet Court, Mayver’s, Earth Choice, PETstock, McCormick Foods, Tassal, Brown Brothers, and Aeroplane Jelly.
