Nine’s The Voice settled back from Sunday’s debut of 1.012 million to post 953,000 last night. But that left it with MasterChef (928,000) breathing right down its musical neck.

All this meant more trouble for Seven’s House Rules, it managed only 579,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Nine won Monday with a neat 29 per cent of all the evening’s eyeballs (all channels). Seven took second with 24.6 per cent, 10 nabbed 21.6 per cent, the ABC had 17.6 per cent and SBS did 7.2 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin (1.231 million) was the most watched show of the night and beat rival Nine’s (1.132 million). ACA had 876,000.

Over at 10, Have You Been Paying Attention? (815,0000) proves its the perennial trooper for the network, while The Project posted an impressive 618,000.

Other standouts for Seven included The Chase (681,000) and Home And Away (678,000).

Nine did well with Hot Seat (640,000) and The Show Must Go On: The Queen & Adam Lambert Story (440,000).

Over at the ABC, its evening ran thus: 7pm news (819,000), 7.30 (648,000), Australian Story (656,000), Four Corners (646,000) and Media Watch (648,000).
