Kyle Sandilands has demanded an apology from The Daily Telegraph, after the newspaper labelled comments he made on-air as a “vile Chinese slur”.

Daily Mail Australia is reporting that the Tele described Sandilands’s comments as ‘vile’ and accused the presenter of “going too far”, although the original article appears to have been edited.

The comments at the centre of the controversy saw Sandilands say that “Chinese pubes are straight”, in reference to his experience with a sex worker.

On Wednesday morning’s show, after the Tele published its report, Sandilands accused the newspaper of making the comments sound worse than they actually were and pedalling fake news.

“What did I say…does anybody remember anything I said,” he said.

“It’s not even offensive; it’s fact… Chinese pubes are straight.

“Where is my apology… What a bunch of piss-ants.”

Sandilands then went on to refuse to read an ad for The Daily Telegraph that had been paid for, according to Daily Mail Australia.

The shock jock caused a similar stir in April, after comments he made in reference to pop star Sam Smith identifying as non-binary.

“I’ll now be allowed to use the N-word then, because I identify as a Black woman. Is that right? Is that how it works,” he said.
