The Block trampled over the competition, but Australian Story survived the stampede thanks to Parkway Drive.

The Aussie metal band brought in 436,000 eyeballs for Australian Story. Plus, who can ignore the tagline Heavy Metal, Heavy Hearts.

Out on top was the Nine Network with 30.0 per cent. Seven Network was just behind with 27.7 per cent of the daily share. 

Followed by  ABC Network with 18.2 per cent of the share and the 10 Network with 17.2 per cent. At the same time, SBS had 7.0 per cent.

In the news, news, Seven News grabbed 919,000 eyeballs, and Nine News earned 776,000 viewers.

Nine’s A Current Affair scored 652,000 viewers – What will Grimshaw’s farewell present be? More importantly who will snag her old parking space? 

As per OzTAM’s metro numbers, Seven’s The Chase brought in 441,000 viewers. Meanwhile Australia’s Got Talent pulled in 470,000 viewers – We need a show where people can come on and show off what they are average at. 

Home And Away pulled in 489,000 viewers. 

The Block pulled in 790,000 viewers for Nine – seriously, this show kills it! Hot Seat grabbed 356,000 viewers. 

For 10, Have You Been Paying Attention pulled in 513,000 viewers. The Project pulled in 295,000 viewers. 

Finally, ABC had a strong news night ABC News, netting 595,000 viewers and 7.30 earned 548,000 viewers.

Meanwhile, Media Watch pulled in 397.000 viewers, and Four Corners brought in 409,000 viewers.
